Jaitley was born in Kabul, Afghanistan to a Punjabi Indian father and an Afghan mother. Her father, V.K. Jaitley, is a retired Indian Army colonel, and her mother was a nurse in the Indian army as well as an Afghan beauty queen.She has one brother who is serving the Indian army.
Celina grew up in several cities, including Lucknow, where she attended City Monetessori school. She also studied in Berhampur, Orissa when her father was posted there.
