Lady Gaga's 'Judas' Video: Jesus Loves Motorcycles

(Getty Images) On Thursday morning, Lady Gaga's highly anticipated video for "Judas," her new album's second single, hit the Internet. Before the video was even made, Catholic groups asserted their outrage over the content of the single, which includes the line "I fell in love with Judas, baby" in the chorus. Considering Gaga portrays a crop top-wearing Mary Magdalene who gets water poured on her in a hot tub, they're probably not going to like the Laurianne Gibson-directed video, either. The video's concept is shockingly literal: Gaga's character falls in love with Judas and betrays her cholo Jesus. There are disappointingly familiar dance sequences (borrowed from the Bad Romance video, which borrows from myriad other videos) and close-ups of very pretty makeup. Also, bikinis. |
