Will Ferrell plays an alcoholic who has bottomed out in Everything Must Go. (From the trailer of Everything Must Go) Will Ferrell plays an alcoholic who loses his job and his wife in one fell swoop in his new movie, Everything Must Go, and he says he went the extra mile in preparing for the role by getting good and tanked.Will told the Onion AV Club that he wanted to take a closer look at his mannerisms under the influence of alcohol, so he decided to get some footage.
"I actually had a buddy of mine come over and film me getting drunk one night, just as an excuse to drink 18 beers, but also to see if there was anything I could glean from that," he explained. Will said it gave him a better understanding of the physicality of inebriation, but it wasn't much help otherwise. "What happens is, I’m just a very happy drunk. That doesn’t help. I just get silly."
We can only hope that in his infinite wisdom, Will decides that these silly drunk tapes need to be uploaded to YouTube.For now ...this one
