Angelina Jolie
Angelia Jolie, born on June 4, 1975, in Los Angeles, California is an American actress. She is a daughter of her actor parents Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand. After her parents’ separation in 1976, she was raised by her mom, who inspired her interest in acting. She has reportedly been teased by her classmates in Beverly Hills High School, for wearing glasses and braces, as well as her modest upbringing, compared to the more affluent families. Angelina felt isolation I that environment and later admitted that she was cutting herself as it was “somehow therapeutic to” her. In her early career she pursued modeling and also appeared in music videos by Antonello Vendetti (“Alta Marea”), Lenny Kravitz (“Stand by my Woman”), and The Lemonheads (“It’s About Time”). Over the next few years, she starred in low-to-mid budget movies, like “Cyborg 2”, “Hackers”, comedy “Love Is All There Is”, “Playing God”, as well as appeared in a Rolling Stones’ video “Anybody Seen My Baby?” Even though her early movies failed to become blockbusters, Angelina’s acting was positively regarded and even compared to her father Jon’s. Angelina was highly praised for her work in numerous motion picture films, such as “George Wallace” (lead female role), “Hell’s Kitchen”, “Playing by Heart”, “Pushing Tin”, “The Bone Collector”, “Girl, Interrupted”, as well as HBO’s TV series “Gia”. Because of an intellectual nature of these films, they failed to become blockbusters. Surprisingly, or maybe not, her international success came with her less than demanding roles from an acting point of view in movies, such as “Gone in 60 Seconds” and “Tomb Raider”. Shallow nature of these films, revolved around entertainment value alone, allowed them to cater to a wider audience, propelling her to Hollywood’s A-List and making her an instant household name throughout the globe. She currently enjoys being one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood. Besides her acting career, Angelina, together with her famous husband Brad Pitt, have been instrumental in raising awareness of the world poverty and hunger, as well as a problem of refugees, displaced as a result of armed conflicts. As a part of her work, she has traveled through the poorest areas of Africa, South-East Asia, South America, and even Europe. She’s currently a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Refugee Agency. Angelina has adopted 3 children from African poor families, named Maddox, Pax, and Zahara.

Justin Bieber and Angelina Jolie at the Golden Globes

Wow Angelina Jolie looked terrible last night at the Golden Globes. It's like she just got out of bed.

Cheer up Angie! By this time next year you'll be taking Zahara and Shiloh to that dude's concerts.

Angelina Jolie: Bound For the Mental Hospital!

We've witnessed her "steal" a woman's husband.

We've heard about her scandalous old drug photos.

We've reported on her being blackballed by her family.

We've seen stories about her being a vindictive, jealous control freak who makes children cry and stages bogus happy family photo ops for positive PR.

At this point, what gossip hasn't been written about Angelia Jolie? That she's been committed to a mental institution? Nope, you can now add that to the list:

Mental Hospital Style

SHE'S INSANE!!! Probably not really ... but look at that photo!

According to the National Enquirer, Angelina Jolie’s notoriously crazy outbursts have flared up in spades in light of a new tell-all book about her dark, sordid past.

The tabloid, with already alleged a suicide attempt by Jolie late last year, says she's headed off to the loony bin after a meltdown that has left Brad Pitt in tears.

Somehow we suspect if Angelina were institutionalized, we'd have heard about it, or the National Enquirer wouldn't be the source of such a bombshell story.

Then again, we thought the same about John Edwards' affair with Rielle Hunter, and Tiger Woods' dalliances with Rachel Uchitel, so you never really know ...

A Short But Sweet Interview With Angelina Jolie

A Short But Sweet Interview With Angelina Jolie

imnotobsessed.com - I guess Angelina Jolie wasn't in the mood to get too chatty when Us Magazine asked her several questions while she walked the red carpet for the 'Salt' premiere.

On possibly playing Cleopatra: "I would be honored, but we haven't gotten the script yet."

On filming 'Salt': "I had a great time being her. She is so many different people."

On whether or not her children will watch this new movie: "I can't show my kids movies where people are trying to kill me."

On whether or not Brad Pitt enjoyed the film: "He liked it."

I guess she didn't want to give them too much to run with considering they bash her relationship on a weekly basis. These celebrities HAVE to take it personally - don't you think?

Top 9 Badass Angelina Jolie Movies

Angelina Jolie, Laura Croft Tomb Raider Paramount Pictures

We know you're stoked for Salt, Angelina Jolie's new spy-thriller opening this week, right? What we love about Jolie is that this butt-kicking action business is nothing new for her—the sexy superstar has spent nearly 15 years making a name for herself taking rebellious roles.

She may have "changed" in recent years, trading her wild ways and unique blood-bearing red carpet style for a more refined (momma) role in real life. But this busy beauty's kept one thing constant: her badass behavior on-camera.

To prove it, we've put together a gallery of the Top 9 most badass Angelina Jolie movies ever. Dig in and let us know what should be No. 10! (eonline.com)

Salt Director: Casting Angelina Jolie Went From "Outrageous" to Brilliant

Cameron Diaz, Tom Cruise, Knight and Day, Angelina Jolie, Salt
Frank Masi/20th Century Fox; Columbia Pictures

You all know by now Angelina Jolie's new flick was originally moving forward with Tom Cruise. So how did the script land at chez Jolie-Pitt and how was Angie convinced to actually do it?

Said the Salt star at Monday night's premiere about why she was ready to "get out of her nightgown" and get back to work after a year off:

"I hadn't seen a film where a woman had done...I had done a lot of action movies but none that were based in reality. So it was such a big challenge, [people] weren't sure it could be pulled off. Anytime someone questions if something can be pulled off, it's hard not to want to try."

But the decision wasn't all Jolie's... (eonline.com)

Angelina Jolie's Salty Bloody Trip to the Hospital

Angelina Jolie (Sony picture)

eonline.com - Making Salt was a real headache for Angelina Jolie—literally.

An accident toward the end of the shoot left a bloodied Jolie taking a trip to the hospital.

How bad was it? We'll let Phillip Noyce, director of the action-packed spy flick, explain…

"She took a dive with all the velocity that she needed to, but there was a TV monitor in her way and she collided with it and hit her between her eyes," Noyce told us last night at the movie's black carpet premiere in Hollywood.

"That's a moment when you don't know what to do or think until you get the report from the hospital. You know, you hit yourself right there and it looks like nothing but it could be something much worse."

Jolie recently told Nightline that the injury interrupted shooting. "I returned the next day with this big bandage on my head, they had to paint it (the bandage) out," she said. "I tried really hard to do my fight scenes and a few minutes in, they were like, 'You're really not fighting very well,' so they sent me home."

Noyce admits he doesn't know if Jolie had to be stitched up. "I'm not sure if she got stitches," he said. "When she came back, the makeup artist had done such a good job covering it up."

Meanwhile, Noyce also said Jolie and beau Brad Pitt's kids visited the set often. "But she never let the outside get in the way of the work," he said. "She's totally focused."

I have more Salt for you. Make sure to come back here later on to find out about plans for a sequel.
